Embracing Educational Excellence

In my second term as a School Board member, I will use my passion and dedication for education to:

1. Ensure Educational Excellence for All Students

• Students must prepare to enter college and to succeed in the global, technology-driven workplace, emphasizing foreign language proficiency, multi-cultural understanding and interpersonal relationships to ensure success.

• Our highly qualified educators must receive ongoing support and training so they can provide all students with the most up-to-date education.

2. Strengthen Our Student-Centered Schools

• Students need an environment that is safe, healthy, challenging, engaging, and responsive to their needs and abilities.
• Families, teachers, and staff must increasingly partner together to provide the solid support network essential for student success.
• Community organizations and colleges must be included to broaden and strengthen this support.

3. Provide Adequate Facilities for Student and Community Needs

• We must add capacity to provide adequate learning space for our growing student population.
• This must be done through a cost-effective and sensible plan, developed in strong collaboration with Arlington County Board.
• We must maximize the use of all school and county facilities to meet this goal and to benefit our students, families, and larger community.
